What is Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a gentle, mechanical technique of exfoliating the skin while promoting collagen and cell renewal. Through the MiniVac system, direct contact of a diamond-coated head combined with a mild vacuum suction acts to rejuvenate the skin by increasing micro-circulation, thus improving blood supply in the skin.

A course of treatment is often recommended to attain best results. Microdermabrasion can be a stand alone treatment, a great way to maintain skin health and also can be used in conjunction with other treatments such as LED or Chemical Peels.

As it is a non-invasive technique, microdermabrasion has earned its popularity due to its low down-time and speedy effectiveness with various skin conditions and disorders including uneven skin tone, the appearance of enlarged pores, hyperpigmentation, melasma, mild comedonal acne, thickened and sun-damaged skin, fine wrinkles, and mild scarring. Microdermabrasion is suitable for most skin types especially dry skin, and is safe to perform on pregnant clients.

Clients who are currently on Accutane or topical retinoids.
Clients who have moderate to severe inflammatory acne, rosacea, rash, wound or other skin irritation.
