Here at Totally Skin And Beauty, all of our chemical skin peeling services are performed in a safe environment with utmost care taken by our Bachelor of Health Science (Dermal Therapies) dermal clinicians. We are dedicated to maintaining a high standard of care for each of our clients, with personalised consultations and follow ups from your dermal clinician. Chemical peels are a popular skin treatment, and our expert team can guide you through the most suitable chemical or glycolic peel for your skin to achieve optimal results.

What is A Chemical Peel?

Using mild acids and enzymes rich with exfoliating properties, a chemical peel solution is gently applied to the skin to exfoliate and eventually remove dead skin cells from the skin, while active ingredients penetrate deep to help reach impurities that could be leaving your skin dull or damaged. Chemical peels are an effective treatment for many skin conditions or concerns, and your clinician will be able to advise you whether it’s suited to your needs.

Is It Right For Me?

If you can relate to one of these conditions, a chemical face peeling treatment may be a great option for you.

  • Pigmentation
  • Fine lines
  • Mild dehydration
  • Thickened skin
  • Premature ageing
  • Sun damage
  • Oily skin
  • Uneven skin texture
  • Mild to moderate acne

Peel Types

Skin peels use Alpha and Beta Hydroxy Acids (AHA/BHA), along with vitamins, enzymes, and antioxidants to exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin. Each individual response to peel can be different. You may feel a range of responses from mild to strong tingling, minimal redness and some flaking can occur after deeper style peels. Your skin will feel immediately softer after a skin peel, with a cumulative improvement seen after a series of treatments.

Treatment Duration & Frequency

Our dermal clinicians will discuss treatment length & frequency during your initial consultation. Peels are quick and effective, taking 15 to 40 minutes, and usually performed on a weekly to monthly basis.

Down Time?

The downtime required after your chemical peel can vary, from no downtime to a matter of weeks for intense chemical peels, such as Dermamelan.
If you do experience down time, it will include a warm sensation and pink appearance immediately post peel, followed by minor flaking and/or temporary sensitivity.
